Design Week: Coming Soon

Every designer’s favorite time of year is upon us— West Michigan Design Week! Every year, AIGA West Michigan (a professional organization for designers and design enthusiasts) puts together a week’s worth of events for the design community.

This year, LEAD Graphic Designer Kendra Smith was able to experience Design Week like never have before– behind-the-scenes! Kendra serves on the AIGA WM board as the Communications Director, which involves many hands-on projects to aid in making this event successful. While she has participated in three or four Design Weeks now, it has never been quite like this.

Hear about her Design Week planning experience and the upcoming event:

“My committee and I have been hard at work getting the word out about this event. Our role is to create graphics and print collateral, design and maintain the Design Week website, manage the ticketing, and post to social media, among other tasks. It has been an educational experience for me to see all of the work that goes into creating a weeklong event like Design Week and making sure the community knows about it.”

This year’s lineup spans 4 West Michigan cities and features keynotes from two high-profile design agencies, along with panels, tours, and lunch and learns. Mark your calendars for March 19-28!
