Meet Jordan Grooters
Tell me about yourself.
Hi! I’m Jordan Grooters. I have an MBA in project management from Cornerstone University and a Bachelor’s in Marketing from Cornerstone University. I love helping people spread ideas and tell stories through marketing.
What’s your favorite thing about being an account coordinator?
My favorite part of being an account coordinator is being the go-between person for clients and creatives. The creative process is often so unpredictable, and clients typically want predictable results. I love working with people, and I like the challenge of managing expectations on both ends.
What do you like to do outside of the office?
My husband and I like to go camping in our roof top tent. In my free time I enjoy running, listening to true crime podcasts, thrift shopping and playing with my German Shepherd dog. I also serve on the board of directors for Casa De Esperanza, a nonprofit organization in Honduras, and I volunteer with the GEMS girls’ club at my church.
What is something others find interesting about you?
I speak Spanish! It was my minor in college, and I studied abroad in Quito, Ecuador for 2 weeks. I also love linguistics (when I was a kid, I used to steal my mom’s Reader’s Digest magazines and memorize the vocabulary words).
What are the values that drive you?
Integrity, Hard Work, Positivity and Loyalty.
Top three favorite podcasts/books?
- I love Human Interest stories, and This American Life podcast never misses.
- There’s a reason My Favorite Murder podcast is consistently #1 on the charts. Karen and Georgia’s sharp wit and endearing candor makes this a weekly listen for me.
- The book Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead by Sheryl Sandberg gave me a lot of practical advice for how to navigate the professional world.
Where is your hometown?
My hometown is Fremont, MI, known as the baby food capital of the world. I grew up near the Gerber baby food factory. We used to be able to smell when they were making macaroni. My close friend and college roommate was the baby food festival queen one year.
