Meet Beth Astorino

Tell me about yourself.

My name is Beth Astorino, I’m from Indiana but I’ve lived in Michigan since 2007. I originally attended Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana and obtained a degree in music. I ended up working in finance just by chance and learned that I really enjoy accounting. That led to me going back to school for accounting and getting my degree from Davenport University.

What’s your favorite thing about being an Accountant?

My favorite thing about being an accountant is that there is a right and wrong way to do everything. I enjoy knowing that things have their place.

What do you like to do outside of the office?

Music is my passion in life! My husband and I are both audiophiles and you can find us spinning vinyl records or watching concert films at all hours of the day. I love record shopping and hunting for rare vinyl pressings. I love playing video games and have been collecting vintage gaming consoles for about 20 years now. I also love spending time with friends, family, and our dog Marty.

What is something others find interesting about you?

My husband and I have followed our favorite bands on tour multiple times, and we often plan our vacations around tour schedules.

What are the values that drive you?

My number one value is trying your best at every task you undertake. If you try something and it doesn’t work out, you still gave it your best effort and that’s all you can ask of yourself.  Also- finding the humor in situations. Life is too short not to laugh.

Top three favorite podcasts/books?

Where is your hometown?

My hometown in Milton, Indiana. It’s so small, no one knows where it is. The population is under 500 people.

What would be your “At-Bat” theme song?

“It’s a Long Way to the Top” by AC/DC.
