2018 GRPD Unity Tour
Each year, LEAD Marketing Agency has the privilege of raising money for the Team West Michigan’s Police Unity Tour bike team. By gathering prizes and selling tickets for the team’s annual raffle, LEAD helps raise money that serves two meaningful purposes for the organization:
- Funding memorial donations to support families of fallen officers
- Funding the annual GR/West Michigan Unity Tour bike team’s trip our east, where it rides in the memorial bike ride from Florham Park, NJ, to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington DC
Team West Michigan Police Unity Tour spokesperson and GRPD officer Jana Forner works closely with LEAD to raise funds and organize the raffle. “LEAD is an awesome partner for us,” Forner said. “They continue to grow our efforts by bringing in more prizes, selling more raffle tickets, and promoting the event.”
In 2018, LEAD helped the team raise nearly $7,000 during its event on Tuesday, March 27th. This event saw 1,510 raffle tickets sold and 209 winners take home prizes. These prizes included sports ticket packages (Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, Grand Rapids Griffins, West Michigan Whitecaps), overnight golf getaways, restaurant gift cards, police memorial items, and many other gifts from local and statewide business and media.
Over the years, LEAD personnel, through its long-standing relationship with Client Johnny Brann and Brann’s Steakhouse & Grille, have formed a special friendship with the men and women of the GRPD. “LEAD steps up every year,” Brann said. “They understand how important it is to support law enforcement.”
Matt Tiedgen, LEAD’s VP and co-Owner, says the Police Unity Tour Raffle is a signature event for the agency. “It’s an impressive show of support,” he said. “It’s nice to bring the community together with officers to memorialize the brave work our men and women in blue do every day.”
